Arden is a seasoned executive coach and consultant in healthcare and higher education.  Prior to her retirement from the public system, she was the President and CEO of Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario, a 520 bed Regional referral centre. 

During her over six year tenure as CEO, Arden presided over a significant period of growth and transformation: expanding the bed base and funding by over 30%, leading the development of an innovative hospital to home transition program (Southlake@home), instituting a comprehensive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program, completing a full scale master site plan and government planning approval, and making significant improvements in Cancer and mental health care.

Prior to her role at Southlake, Arden held senior executive roles at two of the largest health authorities in BC – Fraser Health Authority and the Provincial Health Services Authority, with responsibilities spanning the full continuum of care, including public health, acute community, tertiary and quaternary research, and academic organizations. Her portfolios also included responsibility for non-clinical services, such as quality, risk, and human resources; and she has overseen, as clinical executive sponsor, major public-private partnership (P3) capital projects in the hospital sector.

Arden started her career as a registered nurse in medical and surgical oncology. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (hon) and a Master of Health Administration, both from the University of British Columbia, and completed the Managing Health Delivery post graduate certificate program at Harvard University.

She is a trained co-active executive coach, and a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders. She has served and continues to serve on a wide variety of advisory committees with the Canadian College of Health Leaders, the CD Howe Institute, the Canadian Institute of Health Information, and the United Way of Greater Toronto.
